What’s up Warriors?
Today I had a MAJOR revelation. There are many things that went into play to make this decision, but I’ll say the start of it was my recovery in Bali from a minor depression I suffered after I created The Warrior Cleanse, and then returned home to write my first book (download for free by clicking the name) Hashimotos Hypothyroid – The Warrior Guide to Free Yourself from Auto Immune Disease, combined with my ‘give less F*cks’ mantra, that I’ve been exercising long enough that this feeling of freedom has really alleviated a TON of perfectionism stress I put on myself to be as ‘perfect’ as I could with my diet and lifestyle. Because after all….I’m the Warrior leader to a bunch of other warrior family members. I CAN’T let them down. I quickly realized that…imposing stress about food related decisions, can be more stressful than the eating less healtful. I mean, what good are ‘healthy’ foods when we’re eating them with the wrong mindset, an obsessive and exclusionary one to be specific?
Don’t get me wrong, I work with some VERY sick people who need to be strict for a short period of time, for therapeutic recovery, but these are the people who’s protocols have made it into our overly obsessive mainstream. And the question remains, what brought on the ailments to begin with? An unhealthy diet and lifestyle? Or emotional stress? Did you know this:
STRESS (of any kind) = Stress Hormone CORTISOL increase = GI tract destruction = Disease
Stress can come from our emotions – unconscious and unresolved mainly. So even if someone eats the PERFECT diet, customized entirely to them (which I do), their mindset can trump their kale & chicken liver…all…day….long. Stress blunts nutrient uptake, so here’s where I’m going with this. I’m shifting away from posting about #dogmaticdiets and uber exclusionary health tips.
I’ve found that a staggering 90% of the women who seek out my support, come from a place of #eatingdisorders (myself included), hence advice toward #stricteating is adding more fuel to the fire.
We’re at a cross roads with health and humanity, whereby we have 1 million times more info than we NEED, which confuses us, and we ONLY value health advice if it’s been backed by studies. Problem is, the studies conflict depending on who conducts them, and how they’re done. The era of #manmademarketing, tweaked statistics and exaggerated claims in the name of science has grown out of hand, with small studies being taken out of context to sell a product, a book, a service. Who can we TRUST anymore? The answer is….YOU.
You’re the ONLY one who can truly sense when something is good for you or not.
So put the #sensationalism down, look in the mirror, and make a promise to yourself. To love yourself more, to listen and respect the one person in this world who is the best at judging what compliments you vs what drains you. Then keep the compliments and ditch the drain!
What I’m NOW seeing in epidemic proportions, is women who live in such fear of failure, that they lack to act. Society puts such pressure on us to be, look and talk perfect, in accordance to media lies generated by the top 2% wealthiest dynasties in the world, to control us, to buy their $hit, to follow their rules. Obide, be this way, live in fear. As long as we live in fear, we live in lack. We see the world through a lens of what we don’t have vs what we already do. To quote A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle:
“If the thought of lack – whether it be money, recognition, or love – has become a part of who you think you are, you will always experience lack. Acknowledging the good that is already in your life is the foundation for all abundance (HERE’S MY BUN DANCE). The fact is: Whatever you think the world is, withholding from you, you are withholding from the world.”
So you see…loving yourself isn’t a selfless act.
Neither is putting yourself first.
It’s just the opposite.
The more full of love you are, the more love you’re able to give, and hence the more love you’ll RECEIVE.
Moms…you especially, take heed.
How much do you have to give when you’re exhausted and irritable? What message is that sending to our children?
My new title, venture and focus on the programs and books I plan to create and launch will be: Functional Nutrition Therapist
Because the focus will now be on #SELFLOVETHERAPY first, THEN second, on the details of the diet and lifestyle.
And this is why, my advice, is above all to #LOVEYOURSELFFIRST.
‘I love me’ is NOT selfish, it’s selfless!
Don’t get me wrong, this obsession over selfies and fake posing, is very self absorbed. That is NOT loving yourself. That’s looking for outside approval because you DON’T love yourself (enough). I know because I’m human and I’ve done it too. Still do sometimes. I don’t profess to be perfect, rather I confect I am imperfectly perfect … just … like … you.
I can PROMISE you that will never change.
Rather than searching for love outside of yourself, I guarantee that everything will change the moment you decide to:#LOVEYOURSELF
This book and this radio show interview on Underground Wellness with my buddy, Sean Croxton, was the straw that broke my camels back today!
And I feel so much more FREE and grounded already! 🙂
Do you?
How did this blog hit you?
We really wanna know.
