There’s a HUGE buzz happening now on Green tea. This EXCITES me. Because why? It’s SUPER alkalinizing and oxygenating to the body vs the SUPER acidic coffee that 3 out of 4 Americans chug down every morning. My rule is: Once I’ve heard our tribe ask me 3 times, I blog about it…because you wanna know. 🙂 What’s SUPER COOL is I myself was able to get off coffee, and now enjoy it once and a while instead of every day, thanks to Mr Matcha! And this drink recipe right here. You may have heard me say in the Warrior Cleanse or in videos, that skipping breakfast is a BAD idea. AND what’s worse is to gulp down Coffee upon rising when your body is BEGGING for water to flush the toxins out it worked hard to release during sleep. Sooo, here’s the moral of this article:
DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST, DON’T DRINK COFFEE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH, TRY THIS RECIPE INSTEAD!
It will have you powering through your day without an energy crash! Here’s the ingredients I use to make my ‘Morning Matcha’ – with links on the best ones I spent hours pricing and reviewing, so you don’t have to:
Matcha Powder
Coconut Oil
Gelatin
Protein Powder
Stevia
Now, keep in mind…Gelatin is optional to add. BUT, if you have auto immune disease, achy joints, digestive issues/pains, trouble building muscle or burning fat, or have skin you’re insecure about, it is a WONDER! Read the reviews on it…here’s one that I saw:
“Wow! In only two weeks, my skin started shinning, mild acne cleared, and my skin tone became more even. My pores became less distinguishable and this gelatin gave me a dewy, youthful glow.”
You can also experiment with the recipe even more. I rotate between grass fed butter instead of coco oil for the ‘fat’ in this COMPLETE MEAL recipe.
And while you can add ‘any protein powder’ you prefer, I highly recommend fewest ingredients and ones without artificial anything (95% contain them). I interviewed a couple of experts on ‘What to look for when choosing a Protein Powder that’s best for you’ HERE.
Why Matcha?
One cup of matcha green tea has as many antioxidants as 10 cups of regular tea!
There are many ways we can boost our energy throughout the day. Opting for sugar laden, chemical and caffeine filled drinks will only give a short, unnatural burst of energy, wearing down our adrenal glands and contributing to serious long-term health problems.
So instead of reaching for a pot of coffee, Red Bull or soda, why not give your body a natural energy boost with these delicious pick-me-ups, that are SUPER good for you, add vitality to your body instead of depleting it.
Matcha is made from green tea leaves that contain L-Theanine and a small amount of naturally occurring caffeine (less than coffee!), both providing energy-boosting effects.
It helps to invigorate your metabolism gently lifting you without any energy slumps!
Japanese tea leaves grow in the shade to increase chlorophyll content. These chlorophyll-rich leaves are then handpicked, steamed, dried and ground into a fine green powder.
The history and cultivation of the tea is interesting, but what matters most to health enthusiasts is its antioxidant content. One cup of matcha green tea has as many antioxidants as 10 cups of regular tea!
Those numbers are off the charts. Matcha green tea possesses antioxidant levels that are like multiple times higher than many superfoods popularized today.
MATCHA ANTIOXIDANT LEVELS
6.2 times that of Goji Berries
7 times that of Dark Chocolate
17 times that of Wild Blueberries
60.5 times that of Spinach
As if that’s not reason enough to try it, here’s 8 other reasons. If you have ADD like most of us today, just read the words in pink to get the idea!
1 – CANCER PREVENTER
Green tea contains potent antioxidants called catechins, which scavenge for dangerous free radicals in the body. The most powerful catechin found in green tea is EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which is believed to be a powerful anti-carcinogen4.
A 2003 University of Colorado study confirmed that drinking 1 cup of matcha green tea has 137 times the amount of antioxidant EGCG compared to a conventional cup of green tea.
2 – ANTI-AGER
One of the locales in the world where people live the longest is Okinawa, Japan. The Okinawan people’s longevity has been partly attributed to regular consumption of Matcha Green Tea1.
Matcha green tea is the most popular green tea in Japan, but is rapidly https://cialischeapprice.com/ gaining more popularity throughout the world because of its ability to combat inflammation, oxidation and aging.
3 – LOWERS LDL “BAD” CHOLESTEROL
A 2011 study featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition demonstrated that administration of green tea beverages or extracts significantly lowered serum total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol concentrations. I interviewed a doctor recently, where he disclosed the ‘cholesterol myth’ and what makes cholesterol bad, and what to do about it. You can watch that HERE. (it’s toward the end of the video)
4 – WEIGHT LOSS
A 1999 study featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition demonstrated that green tea extract rich in catechins has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation beyond that explained by the tea’s caffeine content.
It was found that consuming green tea increased thermogenesis (the body’s rate of burning calories) from 8-10% to 35-43% of daily energy expenditure!
Another study demonstrated that:
“exercising immediately after drinking matcha green tea resulted in 25% more fat burning during exercise”
Both studies suggest matcha green tea can enhance both resting metabolic rate and fat burning – HIGH 5. Fat burning that’s not harmful to the body like ‘conventional’ pills? YES, YES, YES. But I can’t convince you to ditch your heart attack and stroke inspiring fat burning pills…you’ve got to try this for yourself! 🙂
5 – DETOXIFIER
Matcha is grown in the shade, which is why it is richer in chlorophyll than other green teas. Chlorophyll is what makes it GREEN! This soldier has the ability to clear the body of toxins, heavy metals, poisons, dioxins and hormone disrupters. And guess what? I see unsafe levels of metals in the majority of patients we test. Heavy metals are a HUGE body disruptor today causing mood imbalances, major fatigue, fat gain, digestive strain, infertility, complications at birth, and a TON more. If you have silver fillings, or ever did, maybe have a tattoo AND aren’t drinking ‘SUPER’ filtered water (THIS IS THE ONE I use, ditch bottled water) these may sound familiar:
6 – MIND IMPROVER
Time to talk all Greek, and sorority like. ALPHA-BETA! Matcha green tea contains up to 5 times more L-theanine than conventional green tea2. L-theanine is an amino acid induces alpha wave activity in the brain.
Stress is known to induce the brain’s BETA wave activity, leading to a more agitated state. ALPHA wave activity can relieve stress, promote relaxation and even lower blood pressure.
Although matcha contains some caffeine, the relaxing properties of L-theanine counterbalance the “jittery” effects of caffeine. AWESOME! A cup of matcha green tea promotes concentration and clarity of mind without the wired and tired nervous energy coffee gives you! SWEET!
7 – FIBER
Matcha green tea leaves contain a high level of easily-absorbable dietary fiber. Reverse diabetes and relieve constipation? Yep, you can! THAT = weight loss, more energy, better skin!
8 – ENERGY
Try a cup of matcha green tea as an afternoon “pick-me-up” anytime you need extra focus INSTEAD OF coffee, which will leave your blood sugar (hence energy) crashed thereafter…and maybe even with a headache too. 🙁
TIPS TO BETTER YOUR MATCHA EXPERIENCE
Matcha green tea is available as a concentrated powder and can be found at most health food stores, but many of them OVERPRICE it. I recommend the ORGANIC MATCHA company I linked below, because it is produced without any artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. I shopped for hours to resource THE BEST ones, read a ton of reviews, priced it per serving, shopped at various stores and these are the places I now buy mine for the recipe above.
Matcha Powder
Coconut Oil
Gelatin
Protein Powder
Stevia
Of course…you can always just drink it like regular tea, without all of these add ons. Don’t add matcha green tea powder to boiling water because it will taste “grassy.” Boil 1 cup of water, let it sit for 5 minutes, THEN add 2 teaspoons of Matcha Powder. To it add stevia, coconut milk, or whatever you’d like to experiment with! Sometimes I’ll add 1 teaspoon of raw honey (Manuka is BEST or local honey, ESPECIALLY to reduce allergies). Mix well (I use my beloved NutraBullet) and enjoy hot or cold. Add sea salt, cinnamon, stevia if desired.

Have a ‘green tea’ party 🙂
